What I use
This is the software I use on my phone and computers.
Phone
My phone runs GrapheneOS. I install all apps through Obtainium. I have a second profile exclusively for my banking app.
Computers
Every PC I own runs Linux or BSD. No Windows, no MacOS.
Emacs
Emacs is open for most of my day. I use it to write and review code, and to read PDFs (and all document types). The config is in my dotfiles repository if you want the messy details.
Passwords
I use gopass on my PCs and Password Store on my phone. Before that I used KeePassXC and KeePassDX, but both felt slow and clunky. GPG-encrypted password files tracked in Git work better for me.
I also wrote an Emacs Lisp module for managing gopass without leaving Emacs.
I read email with mu4e on my PCs and FairEmail on my phone. Neither is flashy. They have every feature I need, and they work.
Files
Previously used LocalSend. To be honest, it was a bit too much. Now I use qrcp through an Emacs module I wrote for it.
Browsers
I mostly use an optimized Firefox build with Betterfox. I keep the extension list short, but uBlock Origin and Violentmonkey are staying. I also really enjoy Chawan.
Terminal
My terminal emulator is foot. It is small, fast and has never given me a reason to replace it.
Messaging
XMPP is how I talk to people. I use Conversations on my phone, and Jabber.el or Giza on my PCs.
WhatsApp and Telegram are bridged into XMPP, so I do not need either app. If people do not want to install the app I use, fine. I make their apps talk to mine :D
I also setup Biboumi for that sweet IRC bridge.
